How To Recognize And Avoid GMO Products

Any organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques is a GMO which means Genetically Modified Organism. Those organisms, which can be plants, animals, microorganisms or other organisms, are results of laboratory process which is different of what we imagine when we eat apple for example. Every time when you go shopping in grocery, you think that the fruits and vegetables that you buy, come directly from natural fields and believe that is 100% natural. Unfortunately, things are different, and some of food products that we buy daily for us and our families are GMO. Those products are not good for human to consume so we should avoid as much as we can.

It is not easy to avoid GMO 100%, but worth trying. The easiest tip that we can offer is: buy fruits and vegetables from local farmers and always buy whole foods, not in peaces. The best solution would be to grow your own food if you have conditions. Pay attention on buying products with GMO-free or non-GMO labels and always buy 100% grass-fed meat. You can also use a shopping guide and that will help you to make difference between GMO and non-GMO ingredients. If you eat in restaurants, you should ask what kind of ingredients do they use for preparing your meal, and always avoid items that contain sugar.
