This 20-Years-Old Man’s Invention Will Save The Ocean From All The Nasty Plastic Rubbish

Boyan Slat, a Dutchman that is very different from the other boys on his age. He has one amazing genius idea. His idea is unique and he wants the ocean to “Clean Itself”. Placing enormous floating barriers in rotating tidal locations around the globe (called gyres), his idea is that some of the 8 million tons of plastic dumped in to the sea yearly will flow into capture. Instead of moving through the ocean, the array would span the radius of a garbage patch, acting as a giant funnel. The angle of the booms would force plastic in the direction of the platforms, where it would be separated from plankton, filtered and stored for recycling. The barriers are huge V-shaped buffers – 6500 feet wide and anchored by floating booms and there is no chance that animals will get caught in them because they are not nets. This is an really amazing project that will save the environment from the plastic and plastik toxins. Watch the photos below how this sistem looks and enjoy!
