Meet The Kings Royal Pet- Beagle

Beagles are so old dog breed that their exact origin are unknown. Latest information about their ancestors is that they lived in England before the Roman Empire, so became popular with the rise of the fox hunting. Pocket Beagles, being so small so they could fit in a glove or gauntlet, were favorite pets during Elizabethan period and Queen Elizabeth was the first one who owned a pocket beagle. As second famous beagle owner, president Lyndon Johnson, had two beloved beagles during his stay at the white house.

Beagles are known for their specific barking (poetically translated from french- “loudmouth”), strong sense of smell, their curiosity, they are friendly and loving with other dogs, especially with kids, but brave and very good hunters. Considered as a pure beagle breed is the one whose tail has white color, long ears, and black and brown on their back. The beagle is medium size breed, weight between 9-11 kg, height from 33 to 41 cm and their longevity is 12-15 years.
