Yesterday the world was shocked by pictures of 3-year-old Ajlan Kurds, who lost his life in an attempt to escape from their homeland Syria. Lifeless body of this young boy was found on the beach in the Turkish resort of Bodrum and the photos quickly were spread across the world.
His 5-year-old brother and their mother Galip Rehan lost their lives while trying to reach by boat to the Greek island, Kos and from there to go to Canada. Their father survived to tell their tragic story.
In honor of Ajlan, who became a symbol of the crisis of refugees, artists from around the world create emotional paintings that share under the Turkish hashtag #KiyiyaVuranInsanlik or #HumanityWashedAshore.
